R26/14-10 It was moved and seconded (1) That the City of Richmond does not endorse discrimination in any form and takes strong exception to the discriminatory messaging recently published on social media. This issue was highlighted in both the Vancouver Sun and the Province, drawing public attention to the matter; (2) That the City of Richmond formally request an apology from the party writing the post on behalf of all its residents, and take a clear public stance condemning this type of messaging going forward; and (3) That the City of Richmond forward this matter to the BC Human Rights Tribunal for their review.
