Application by 1359161 BC Ltd. to Enter into a Heritage Revitalization Agreement to Conserve a Protected Heritage Building Known as Ikeda Dry Goods and Construct a Hotel at 3831 Moncton Street & steveston Village Heritage Conservation Grant Application

The proposed conservation work includes: • Preserve the original form, scale and massing including the ca. 1930 rear extension and demolish the unsympathetic flat roof addition built in the 1980s; • Restore the storefront windows and recessed entry door (same proportions, materials and divisions as seen in photographs dating to the 1940s and early 1950s); • Reconstruct the east wall that is severely deteriorated; • Replace existing asphalt shingle roofing with historically appropriate cedar shingles; • Preserve and restore the north wall drop cove siding; • Preserve and repair exterior woodwork, with replacement of any components only where not repairable;
