STEVESTON HIGHWAY MULTI-USE PATHWAY PROJECT PHASES 1 AND 2 – UPDATE

Council approved the Steveston Highway Multi-Use Pathway Project Phases 1 and 2 (the Project) as part of the 2019 and 2020 Capital Budgets, respectively. The project will implement a shared cycling and pedestrian facility on the south side of Steveston Highway from Shell Road to No. 2 Road that is physically separated and protected from traffic with provision of a concrete barrier and buffer zone. Phases 1 and 2 are currently in the procurement phase. Phase 3 of the project (No. 2 Road to Railway Avenue) was approved by Council as part of the 2023 Capital Budget and is not the subject of this staff report.
