The building has been non-operational since the 1980s and is significantly deteriorated. In August 2024, a structural assessment confirmed the building had reached a state of advanced deterioration, compromising its structural integrity and rendering it unsafe for occupancy. As a result, the building was condemned. A previous HAP authorized the installation of exterior bracing to stabilize the structure and prevent further deterioration, enabling professionals to safely undertake additional investigation and historical research.
