The total number of applications received is 11 for Operating Assistance and 14 for Project
Assistance; however, six of the Project Assistance applications were deemed ineligible for the
following reasons:
The Richmond Improv Theatre Society applied for both Operating Assistance and Project
Assistance. The program policy permits funding in one category at a time so while they
were successful in their Operating Assistance application, their Project Assistance
application was declined.
Two returning Project Assistance applicants were not being considered following a careful
review of their 2024 Grant Use Reports. BC Philharmonic Society and Arisun Yue Opera
Society did not fulfill the conditions of their 2024 grant, and were informed that they can re-
apply for funding at a future date, upon meeting the 2024 conditions.
Three Project Assistance applications were received from organizations that do not meet the
eligibility criteria for the Arts and Culture grants program: Canada Chain Commerce
Association, Familogue Education Society and Vancouver Sustainability Initiative
Foundation. Each was informed of their organization’s ineligibility in advance of the
deadline; one of them subsequently submitted an application to another City grant stream.
