Metro Vancouver Sewage Diversion and Funding Agreement

The Sewer Heat Recovery facility will divert flow from Metro Vancouver’s sewer trunk and extract heat for use in LIEC’s district energy system. At full build-out, the facility will generate 8 MW of renewable heat recovered from the sewer. Detailed design of the facility has been completed and construction is scheduled to commence in Spring 2027, subject to development activity in the Oval Village area.
