It was Moved by Councillor Kooner Seconded by Councillor Bains That Council: 1. Receive Corporate Report R134 for information; 2. Authorize the City Clerk to bring forward bylaw amendments to amend Surrey Official Community Plan Bylaw, 2026, No. 21900, as amended, to redesignate lands within the Central Newton Industrial Study Area from “Industrial” to “Employment I”, for first and second readings and schedule a public hearing; 3. Subject to Council granting third reading to the Official Community Plan amending bylaw referenced in Recommendation #2, authorize staff to submit an application to the Metro Vancouver Regional District Board for a Type 3 amendment to Metro 2050: Regional Growth Strategy to redesignate the Central Newton Industrial Study Area from “Industrial” to “Employment”; 4. Subject to approval by the Metro Vancouver Regional District Board of the Regional Growth Strategy amendment and acceptance of the City’s amended Regional Context Statement, authorize the City Clerk to bring forward the Official Community Plan amending bylaw referenced in Recommendation #2 for consideration of final adoption.
