Draft Economic Development Strategy

Strategic Objective 1: Shared Prosperity Expand access to economic opportunity and ensure the benefits of growth are broadly shared.  Outcome 1.1 - Inclusive Employment Opportunities: Actions focus on connecting employer and workforce needs, convening employers to advance inclusive hiring practices, promoting pathways into the trades, and exploring social enterprise programs that connect under-represented groups with employment opportunities.  Outcome 1.2 - Expanded Local Entrepreneurship: Actions focus on promoting existing entrepreneurship supports, increasing knowledge of and access to procurement opportunities, exploring innovative partnerships between the public and private sector, and partnering with service providers to support local business succession.  Outcome 1.3 - Wider Workforce Participation: Actions focus on identifying and addressing location-specific gaps in workforce supports, such as transit and child care, and exploring opportunities for coordinated employer investment in shared workforce supports.
