Compared to the year that Richmond's water metering program staiied in 2003, the City's total water usage in 2023 decreased by 14%, from 39.7M cubic in 2003 to 34.0M cubic metres in 2023, despite a population increase of 32% from 178,319 to 234,644 residents over the same period. • Richmond's 39 outdoor water fountains found in parks and other public areas provided potable water to the public while promoting tap water consumption as an alternative to bottled water. 7675292 PWT - 26
