It was Moved by Councillor Kooner Seconded by Councillor Stutt That Council: 1. Receive Corporate Report R065 for information; and 2. Authorize staff to submit an application for the Local Community Accessibility Grant Program, delivered by the Social Planning and Research Council of British Columbia in partnership with the BC Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, in the amount of $25,000 to support the implementation of the following two accessibility initiatives: a. Purchasing eight evacuation chairs and developing procedures to support staff in assisting individuals with disabilities to evacuate recreation facilities during an emergency, thereby enhancing emergency preparedness at City facilities; and b. Upgrading fitness equipment and developing training for recreation staff to enhance fitness accessibility at recreation facilities. RES.R25- Carried
