2023 ENGAGING ARTISTS IN COMMUNITY PROGRAM PUBLIC ART PROJECTS

Artist J Peachy was recommended for the Fe1Tis Elementary School and Richmond Emergency Programs artist project. J Peachy is a multidisciplinary community-based artist with a creative practice in storytelling, puppetry, painting, installation art and environmental art. Through a variety of hands-on art activities, the project will engage students from grades 4 and 5 guided by questions like "How can we build personal and community resiliency?" and "Where in nature are there examples of resiliency and responses to threats?" The project will conclude with a celebratory gathering to engage the larger public and neighbourhood in June 2023, with an aim to foster community building and social connection.
