Advocacy for Renewed Local Government Climate Action Program Funding

The Province released the Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions 2026/27—2028/29 Service Plan in February 2026. Staff reviewed the plan and noted that LGCAP funding beyond 2027 is not confirmed. The UnionofBritish Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) also advised local governments, through a statement released in April 2026, that LGCAP funding is not included in the provincial service plan.
