Nick Gottlieb is a writer, researcher, community organizer, and PhD candidate at Simon Fraser University. His priorities for the change we need are shaped by his research into corporate power and his experience organizing in communities across British Columbia. He is running to advocate for greater investment in healthcare, housing, affordability, workers, and a liveable future, while challenging what he sees as excessive corporate influence over public policy. For Nick, research and community organizing go hand in hand. While living in Squamish, he helped found the Squamish Resilience Network and co-led a campaign supporting the community’s “Just Recovery” initiative. Since moving to Terrace, where he has lived for the past five years, he has helped establish the Skeena Local Action Network and has been involved in campaigns focused on housing affordability, environmental protection, international solidarity, and proposed data centre development in the region.
