Francis Racy was born and raised in northern B.C. and called Prince Rupert home for close to half her life. Her grandfather was Tsimshian from Lax Kw’alaams and her grandmother was Gitxsan. She carries that lineage as Ganeda, Frog Clan, of Wilp Luuxhon, and holds the hereditary name En nuu Ann Gaiwh. For Francis, the North is not simply where she lives. It is part of her identity, her responsibility, and a central reason she is running to represent North Coast-Haida Gwaii. Since February 2026, Francis has led mental health education programming and supported regional educators across Prince Rupert, Terrace, the Bulkley Valley, and Haida Gwaii. Her work has given her a firsthand view of the pressures facing rural and northern communities, particularly gaps in healthcare, mental health supports, and social services.
