Zheng Dang has lived in Canada for 25 years and is a graduate of the University of Manitoba. He is the father of a middle school student and understands the hopes, concerns and priorities of families in our community. Since 2014, Zheng has owned and operated a seafood and meat business in Richmond, gaining extensive experience in leadership, management and working with people from diverse backgrounds. As Executive Director of the Asian Canadian Basketball Association and Chair of the Youth Sports & Health Committee, he has dedicated himself to youth sports, healthy living and community participation. Zheng believes a school trustee’s first responsibility is to listen—to students, families, educators, school staff and the community. If elected, he will focus on student achievement and well-being, meaningful communication with families and educators, and responsible, transparent and accountable leadership. Richmond’s diversity is our strength.
